The Wrightwood Community Services District assumed solid waste powers from the County of San Bernardino in 2017. The WCSD oversees solid waste and recycling programs for commercial businesses within District boundaries and contracts for residential solid waste and recycling services with CR&R. Each year, the WCSD partners with The Wrightwood Fire Safe Council to promote green waste recycling events for our residents.
The County established waste hauler designated areas and charges a Franchise Fee of 10% to waste haulers. The hauler pays these fees monthly based upon the revenue. The hauler also makes an annual recycling report showing how many tons of solid waste they have recycled in compliance with State regulations.
